During a recent interview on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3one of the visual effects experts who worked on the film, Miguel Angel Acevedo Montserratconfirmed that the High Evolutionary of Chukwudi Iwujithe villain of the film, survives the final battle of the final film of the trilogy James Gunn.

In Montserrat’s statement, even if it is stated that the scene in which it is clearly seen that the character is saved has been cut, there seems to be a particular frame of the film in which Drax appears carrying him on his shoulders to save him from the explosion of his spaceship.

The scene of the rescue of all those animals from the prisons of the High Evolutionary is very excited, so it is difficult to read everything that is happening, but a first check confirmed the statement, and if that weren’t enough, also James Gunn, writer and director of the film, confirmed. He even explained why the team saves the villain after Rocket refuses to shoot his creator.

“It’s the culmination of Rocket’s journey. The change in him manifests itself in the moment he decides not to kill his tormentor himself – he goes from being the least empathetic to the most empathetic of the Guardians ”, explains Gunn. “It felt silly [e] vacuum that refuses to kill him and then leave him on that exploding ship. And, yes, there is a deleted scene. She’s actually pretty awesome, but it would have messed up the pacing of the end,” she continued. “You’ll probably see her in the extras.”

As for his fate, at the end of the film, Gunn always confirmed that the High Evolutionary is now imprisoned on Everywhere. This of course leaves the door wide open for him to return, even if Gunn has already closed his to the possibility of making a fourth chapter himself.
